Chicago suburbs office insight - Q2 2018

Redevelopment is the name of the game. Motorola’s proposed plans to create a densified suburban core include a Top Golf, office spaces and townhomes. Similarly, AT&T’s former campus in Hoffman Estates is in negotiations with Somerset Development. Modeled off the success at Bell Works in New Jersey, the developer’s “City Works” mixed-use concept was approved by the city.

City Works would incorporate 550 residential units, 1.2 million square-feet of offices, a 200 room hotel, and over 10,000 squarefeet of conference space and retail to create a unique experience. Franklin Partners recently purchased 263 Shuman, the former OfficeMax campus, in Naperville with the intention to rehab the property with updated amenities designed to respond to the needs of the modern employee.
