United States employment update – November 2018

All major industry segments recorded some degree of growth in October, bringing monthly additions to a very robust 250,000 net new jobs. Over the year, the labor market has maintained its 1.7% rate of growth as conditions are stable despite acute shortages of employees and the expansion moves to the final months of its unprecedented ninth year. Leisure and hospitality saw a notable resurgence after pausing in September due to extreme weather, while even information registered 7,000 new jobs.
