Two major deals reverberate across the market as rents continue upward march

There were two notable leases signed in Q1. State Street agreed to move its headquarters from 1 Lincoln to One Congress in 2023, leasing 510,000 square feet at HYM’s multi-phase development. Backfilling their space at One Lincoln was WeWork, which leased a quarter-million square feet, upping their total square footage in Boston to 1.1 million. WeWork is now the 3rd largest occupier in the city, growing by 740,000 square feet since the beginning of 2018.
