US industrial investment outlook - H1 2018

Increased competition has continued to push rents up further nationally, reaching $5.68 per square foot, marking another quarterly all-time high. On an annualized basis, rents increased by 6.2 percent, with sentiment remaining for continued strength in the leasing market.

Total net absorption lagged new deliveries in the first half of 2018 by 11.6 million square feet; however, demand remains strong throughout the United States as total national vacancy remained stable at a historic all-time-record low 4.8 percent for the second consecutive quarter.
