Senior Vice President, Research, South Central Region
Steven McCord serves as JLL's Head of Research, South Central Region, which includes Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio and Kansas City.
Steven has over 12 years of extensive commercial real estate research and analysis, touching on a variety of topics including economics, multiple property types and capital markets.
His previous role was National Director, Head of Retail Research, Asia and Head of Research, North China. He led a team of eleven full-time research staff members covering all sectors of real estate, part of an overall group of 40 researchers in China across 14 corporate offices.
As Head of Retail Research, Asia, Steven followed industry trends shaping shopping centers in Asia and briefed real estate funds on the competitive landscape and investment strategies.
His team collected, packaged, and sold data and analysis to institutional investors. He managed production of topical research articles and papers on industry trends, blog posts, and detailed, data-rich presentation decks to showcase deep market knowledge.
Steven led the advancement of innovative visuals and coordinated regular market due diligence studies on behalf of developers and investors. He also led comprehensive site selection studies for retailers based on field inspections of shopping centers in China across thirty China markets.
Education and Affiliations
Steven has a Master of Public & Internal Affairs degree from University of California, San Diego School of Global Policy and Strategy (GPS). He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Management Science, Information Systems and International Business from Penn State University.
