Career summary

Stephen Collins is a senior managing director in the Washington, D.C. office of JLL Capital Markets, Amerciase. He shares responsibility for the strategic direction, growth and client activities of JLL’s global capital markets business.

Stephen's role is an expansion of his responsibilities with Capital Markets international capital, focused on executing cross-border transactions between the regions of the Americas, Asia Pacific, Europe and the Middle East.

His efforts are aimed at collaborating and extending the reach of the existing local and regional Capital Markets teams. Our international network develops, manages and creates sell and buy-side mandates, focusing on assets valued in excess of US$100 million.

Stephen serves globally-oriented clients who wish to build international portfolios. He is primarily responsible for JLL’s international capital activity on the East Coast of the US, Canada, Mexico, and South America.

Since joining JLL as part of the Spaulding & Slye merger in 2006, Stephen has been instrumental in shaping the overall direction of international capital flow.

He has also made significant contributions to JLL’s direct business development through proprietary deal sourcing and has reshaped the firm’s Capital Markets presence over recent years, working to integrate several new components of the Mid-Atlantic business.

Experience
Stephen has more than 25 years experience in commercial real estate. Prior to joining JLL in 2006, he was a partner in Spaulding & Slye Colliers as well as the Director of Ernst and Young Kenneth Leventhal’s (EYKL) Capital Markets and Corporate Services Group. 

He also served as President of GVA Worldwide, a professional real estate organization with more than 3,600 professionals in offices throughout 20 countries and five continents.

Education
Stephen received a BA from the University of Delaware.

Affiliations
He is a member of the Association of Foreign Investors in Real Estate (AFIRE) and a member of the Urban Land Institute's Global Exchange Council.

He also serves as the leader of the JLL Americas Capital Markets Senior Leadership Council.
