Current responsibilities
As the global leader of JLL's Life Sciences practice, Roger Humphrey guides a team of more than 2000 professionals dedicated to developing customized outsourcing solutions for the entire real estate and facilities management lifecycle. 

The Life Sciences team helps pharmaceutical/biotech, medical device and other regulated companies reduce costs, and boost productivity throughout their real estate portfolios, while maintaining the highest levels of safety and compliance.

His team accountable for providing facility management, transaction management, lease administration, design/construction/project management and portfolio management to leading pharmaceutical firms, such as BMS, Pfizer, Merck, Novartis, Amgen, Bayer, AstraZeneca, GSK, Howard Hughes Medical Institute, among others, in both technical and non-technical facilities including R&D, Manufacturing and Office. 

A leader in the real estate industry for more than 30 years, Roger came to JLL from Merck & Co, Inc. where he was Executive Director, Global Real Estate and IFM Governance.

He joined Merck in 2006 and, over the next seven years, built and staffed the Global Real Estate Services department that provided Portfolio Strategy/Management, Occupancy Planning, Workplace Innovation and Transaction Management for a 100 million-square-feet portfolio that spanned 750 sites in 80 countries.

Additionally, he developed and managed Merck's global Integrated Facilities Management ("IFM") outsourcing program, ensuring consistency, best practice sharing, effective operations and continuous improvement/innovation for a managed annual spend in excess of $500 million.

Roger also served as the integration lead during Merck's merger with Schering-Plough, helping to consolidate Merck's global footprint and played an integral role in developing the strategy to relocate the firm's global headquarters. During his tenure, he reduced Merck's real estate and facilities spend by more than 30 percent or $500 million annually.

Prior to Merck, Roger served as Vice President, Real Estate, Corporate Services and Financial Operations for Oxford Health Plans, where he was responsible for real estate, facilities, production operations and financial operations. 

Prior to Oxford, he was Director of Real Estate for Iron Mountain and directed space acquisition processes, real estate due diligence for mergers and acquisitions and conducted multimillion-dollar negotiations of leased and build-to-suit sites.

Roger earned an MBA from Babson College and a BSBA with a concentration in Finance from Northeastern University.

He is an active member of CoreNet Global where he holds a Master's of Corporate Real Estate (MCR) designation and Senior Leader of Corporate Real Estate (SLCR) designation, and frequently speaks on corporate real estate and integrated outsourcing.

He is also a founding Board Member of the Giving Hope Network, a nonprofit charity dedicated to helping orphans and families impacted by Autism, and is a Board Member of the Cancer Support Community of Central New Jersey.
