Current responsibilities:
Michael started in PDS-NY in Aug 2014 and became the team lead for PDS-NY Retail in 2018. Primary responsibilities include but not limited to managing a team of retail project managers and overseeing retail work within the Tristate area; business development; managing internal relationships with Retail Brokerage, Work Dynamics and other markets within the Tristate area; managing internal financials and yearly business plan; training, mentoring and supervising SPMs, PMs and Associate PMs; managing departmental training and team building activities as part of the leadership team on The Inside Scoop, the departmental training committee.
Experience:
In Michael’s 26-year career, he has worked as the client for Tiffany & Co. and Ann Taylor. As an architectural consultant, Michael worked for TSC Design and TPG Architecture. Michael has worked on diverse projects including retail, corporate, manufacturing and facilities projects throughout the U.S. as well as overseas in Europe and the Far East. Some notable past clients and projects have included the Nordstrom NY flagship campus, NBA NY flagship, Barneys Downtown NY flagship, JD Sports/Finish Line NY flagship, Tiffany & Co., COACH, Ann Taylor, DKNY, Kate Spade, Belstaff London Flagship, L’Occitane, Morgan Stanley Smith Barney and Wachovia.
Michael completed the main flagship project for Nordstrom in New York City which opened in October 2019 and included a 350,00 SF full line store and a separate 43,000 SF Men’s Store which opened in April 2018. Michael also completed the 31,000 SF flagship location in Times Square for JD Sports/ Finish Line in 2020, the 6,500 SF Carolina Herrera flagship in 2019 and is currently finishing the 37,500 SF Hermès of Paris flagship store on Madison Ave. Michael completed the 25,000 SF NBA New York flagship store in 2016 and the 50,000 SF Barneys Downtown New York flagship store, also in 2016.
Education and affiliations:
Michael earned a 4-year B.S. in Architectural Technology degree from the New York Institute of Technology in 1994. Michael served in the U.S. Army on active duty from 1988 - 1991 as well as in the United States Army Reserve from 1993 - 2011. After more than 20 years of Army service, Michael retired in May 2011.
Michael is currently a national co-chair for JLL’s Veterans Network (VetNet) Business Resource Group and was previously the national chair for the Asian Business Professionals Network (ABPN) BRG which has over 700 national members and served as the NY Chapter co-chair for most of 2019. Michael was also awarded JLL’s 2019 Diversity and Inclusion award.
