Current responsibilities
Louis serves as Managing Director for JLL in the Carolinas region. He has been recognized for his creative financing solutions including several sale-leasebacks, as well as his lease vs. buy analysis for clients considering lease or pre-sale developments.
His build-to-suit capabilities are unparalleled, as Louis has handled several major built-to-suits in his market and many trophy property sales. Louis' expertise has been presented through several articles he has authored for SIOR's national magazine, the "Professional Report."
With his vast real estate experience, he is able to cultivate trust with clients, enabling him to better understand their needs and provide outstanding service for their real estate portfolios. He has been involved in projects totaling several million square feet over the course of his real estate career.
Today with over 30+ years in the business, Louis has a solid track record with companies such as HSBC, CitiGroup, General Electric, Wells Fargo, ESPN, DuPont, SunGard Trust Systems, Kansas City Southern Coca Cola Bottling Company Consolidated, Quicken Loans and Carolinas HealthCare Systems as well as many investor clients.
Experience
Louis began his career in commercial real estate as a Leasing Agent and ultimately Director of Marketing for The Bissell Companies from 1982 to 1985.
He then served as Charlotte Partner for Spectrum Properties from 1985 to 1988 eventually calling the market to sell in 1988 and, subsequently establishing his own firm, The Stephens Company.
Louis was a previous Partner of Carolinas Real Data, and past Partner of Quantus, Charlotte's project management and move management provider. As a result of these enterprises, The Stephens Company affiliated with Cresa Partners in 2001; and Corporate Realty Advisors (CRA) in 2006. CRA was then acquired by Jones Lang LaSalle in the fall of 2007.

Louis earned a B.S. degree in Industrial Relations from University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
