​​​​Current Responsibilities

Gary Godsey is a Managing Director in Tampa, FL.  He shares in the responsibility of the daily oversight for the Tampa office operations, including collaboration among JLL's integrated service offerings and focusing on implementing the company's growth strategy in the Tampa Bay region.​  Additionally, Gary handles transaction management services and portfolio optimization for occupiers of real estate both locally and nationally. His ultimate focus is in negotiating transactions that align with an organization's business goals to achieve the lowest occupancy costs and maximize flexibility for his clients. 

Experience

Gary joined JLL in July 2008 through the merger of The Staubach Company. He has managed over 800 lease and capital transactions in excess of 10M square feet. His tenant focused services include strategic planning, site selection, contract negotiation, construction management, and incentive consulting. Gary’s recent local transactions include a 107,000 global headquarters lease for Gerdau,  40,000 s.f. North American headquarters for Biospine, 20,000 s.f. headquarters for American Integrity Insurance Group, 25,000 s.f. office lease restructure for Microsoft, a 50,000 s.f. consolidation project for SAIC in the Westshore submarket, acquisition of a 100,000 s.f. headquarters building for PDQ and the disposition of 20,000 s.f. of excess office space for HDR. Other clients of Gary’s include L&E Research, Nike, Verizon, Computer Sciences Corporation and Lending Tree.

Education and Affiliations

Gary graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a bachelor of arts degree in Management Information and a master’s degree in Psychology. Gary is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Florida. He is active in education and coaching high school football in the Tampa Bay area and is Board Secretary for Make-A-Wish Southern Florida. Gary is consistently recognized as a Costar Power Broker for leasing brokers in the Tampa Bay Market.
