Current responsibilities
Daniel Byers, MAI, serves as a Vice President for JLL Valuation Advisory and functions as Multi-housing Lead – West. In this role, Mr. Byers is responsible for developing and managing various appraisal and consulting services for commercial lending institutions, investors and attorneys. Mr. Byers leads a production team of appraisers based in the San Diego office. Responsibilities include client communications, appraisal review, business development and appraiser mentoring.
Experience
Prior to joining JLL early 2020, Mr. Byers was a Senior Real Estate Review Appraiser with CTL of Chase. CTL is the largest multi-housing lender in the country, serving 13 major U.S. markets. Mr. Byers completed technical reviews to ensure compliance with federal banking regulations, Chase appraisal policy and to form an opinion as to the reasonableness of the analyses and conclusions presented. Prior to working with Chase, Mr. Byers was a Senior Commercial Review Appraiser for First Citizens Bank. Job responsibilities inlcuded maintaing a vendor panel, ordering commercial, industrial and land appraisals in Texas, Colorado, New Mexico, California, Oregon and Washington.
Mr. Byers has worked as a commercial real estate appraiser both independently and for several national firms since 1987. He has completed appraisal assignments in 19 states and British Columbia, with the majority of the work in Southern California. Appraisal experience includes apartments; condominiums; hotels; mobile home parks; shopping centers; restaurants; auto dealerships; industrial buildings; office buildings and all types of land including residential subdivisions. Other appraisal assignments include special-use properties such as schools, hospitals, congregate care facilities as well as leasehold interests and luxury, single-family residences.
