Current responsibilities

As Director of Specialty Leasing, Catherine heads up JLL Retail’s short-term leasing, media and partnership program. Responsible for the conception of a strategic and innovative vision, Catherine leads and mentors the efforts of a team of leasing professionals around the country to drive traditional revenues as well as new, incremental income streams from digital and static media, sponsorship, brand pop ups and activations, to add value to the properties and enhance guest experiences.


Catherine joined JLL from Starwood Retail Partners where she led business development initiatives with a focus on seeking new brands, activations and business initiatives. Prior to Starwood Retail, Catherine served as a Senior Property Manager for Inland Real Estate Corp, and 13 years with General Growth Properties, rising to Group Vice President-Business Development, where she oversaw specialty leasing programs in various regions, including its flagship Hawaii portfolio. Catherine was born and raised in Singapore and first relocated to the United States for her university studies. She is fluent in English, Mandarin and three other Chinese dialects. Her perspective is rooted in a lifetime of professional and personal on-the-ground experiences in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, China, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Germany and Austria, and many regions of the United States.

During her career, Catherine has faced hands-on retail/shopping center experiences in the areas of accounting, marketing, property management, alternative revenue and specialty leasing. She brings a wealth of knowledge in the real estate industry, is an innovative and results-driven professional with proven success leading, mentoring and developing dynamic teams, conceptualizing and executing strategic first-to-market programs, delivering value-enhanced initiatives in retail property management, leasing, lease negotiations, revenue and expense management, brand activations, sponsorships and advertising.

Education and affiliations

She holds a bachelor of arts in communications from the University of Northern Iowa.
