Current responsibilities
Barry serves as Executive Vice President and co-lead for the Carolinas’ Agency Leasing team in Charlotte, North Carolina. He provides strategic real estate services to building owners in addition to overseeing the growth and development of the firm’s Charlotte agency leasing portfolio.
Highly respected in the brokerage community, Barry is well known for his high level of success, integrity and persistence. Barry has developed a strong reputation for completing complex transactions and establishing long-term trust, leading to considerable repeat business.
With over 18 years in the business, Barry has a solid track record with companies including SPK Corporation, MetLife, Liberty Mutual, Babcock & Wilcox, and Snyders-Lance.
Experience
Barry began his career in commercial real estate at Bissell in 1997 after playing golf professionally. While at Bissell, he oversaw leasing at Ballantyne Corporate Park, the company's 4.3 million-square-foot South Charlotte office park, and Bissell's SouthPark office properties.
During his career, Barry has participated in more than 12 million square feet of transactions and has completed more than $1 Billion in deal consideration. He has negotiated a host of major corporate leases during his time at Ballantyne, the largest being a 340,000 SF lease by insurance giant MetLife Inc.
Additionally, he was integral in all development plans for Ballantyne Corporate Park.
Education
Barry earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics & History from Wake Forest University in 1989.
Affiliations
He is a member of CRCBR and a graduate of its Leadership Program. Barry serves on the board for the Morrison YMCA in South Charlotte and is a member of Charlotte Region Board of Commercial Realtors. In his spare time, he is a Catechist at St. Matthew Catholic Church and coaches youth basketball.
