JLL names Alexander Quinn as Director of Research for Northern California

SAN FRANCISCO, CA. — Sept. 4, 2019 – JLL announced the appointment of veteran economic consultant Alexander (Quinn) Quinn as Director of Research for Northern California. He will be based in the San Francisco office and oversee a team of research analysts covering the regional economy and real estate markets from Sacramento to San Jose.

Quinn started his career in economic consulting at BAE Urban Economics where he provided analysis on transit-oriented development and the housing market. Prior to joining JLL, Quinn was Director of Sustainable Economics at Hatch, a global engineering consultancy and, before that, led the economic consulting practice at AECOM, the Los Angeles-based global engineering firm.

In his more than twenty-year career, he has performed economic advisory work for major projects throughout the Bay Area including site acquisition modeling for a major development in Santa Clara, economic development strategy for San Francisco’s Central Market; development feasibility and community benefits analysis for Downtown Oakland, long range planning for the Transbay District and transit-oriented development analysis for light rail extensions in Sacramento.  

A noted expert on a wide range of economic consulting, urban planning and real estate topics, Quinn has provided expert testimony to the U.S. Congress and is a guest lecturer at U.C. Berkeley’s Masters of Urban Design program and UC Hastings School of Law. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and the American Planning Association (APA).

Quinn received his Masters of City and Regional Planning with an emphasis in Housing and Project Development from U.C. Berkeley. He lives in Berkeley California.
