Regional Operations Director
This International Women’s Day and every day, we are proud to recognize our inspiring women leaders and allies at JLL.
Who is a female inspiration/role model to you and why?
Maybe it’s partially related to my Polish roots, but my female role model is Maria Skłodowska-Curie. She is best known as the first woman to ever be honored with a Nobel Prize in the fields of physics and chemistry. Women like Maria demonstrated historical brilliance in the study of science, technology, engineering and math, and revolutionized the world with it. Whatever the cause of the gender gap is, there is no question that women belong and can be successful in any industries they want.
Why does inclusion matter to you?
There is a tangible impact of diversity and inclusion on a company’s bottom line. Companies that actively work to make their cultures more inclusive are better positioned to achieve strong customer loyalty as well as boost employee engagement and productivity. Employees who feel their voice is heard and who can be their authentic self at work are a few times more likely to perform their best work.
How are you inspiring women to achieve their ambitions at JLL?
Young women in work often talk about the self-doubt that holds them back, the voice at your shoulder saying you aren’t really good enough. I try to be the opposite voice for them and make them understand they have all necessary resources to achieve their personal and business ambitions. How to do that? Honesty is the best policy. I tell them how I have gone through the same turbulent times and where I am now.
