Brett is responsible for growing the firm’s business in Canada, where he leads all business lines.
Brett’s career in commercial real estate spans more than three decades. Early on, he got a taste of the development side of the business, working with Canderel Limited in Montreal, where he held a number of executive roles in finance, leasing, and development. In 2001, he stepped into a role as Managing Director of CBRE in Montréal, climbing to increasingly senior roles over his ten-year tenure. Most recently, he ran all Eastern Canadian divisions of the firm.
Brett joined JLL as CEO of Canada in May 2012, and has since made the firm Canada's fastest growing commercial real estate company. Through the process of adding new talent, launching new business lines, and making acquisitions, Brett has increased revenues by 1,000%.
He also added more than 1,000 employees. Based in Toronto, he now leads 1,300 professionals located in nine corporate offices and client sites.
Brett holds a bachelor of commerce degree in real estate from McGill University in Montreal and a master’s degree in business administration from INSEAD, Fontainebleau in France.
A strong believer in education, Brett is involved with the INSEAD Alumni Foundation as Canadian Trustee. Outside of JLL, he enjoys spending time with his family, relaxing at his farm, and competing in various endurance sports.
