Cost of construction in Portland

Rider Levett Bucknall recently released their fourth quarter 2016 construction cost report, detailing high and low estimates for building premium offices in several larger metropolitan areas across the country. The cost in Portland ranges between $180 to $250 per square foot.

The cost range for Portland is relatively narrow and among the lowest overall with only Seattle experiencing a lower range and cost.

Construction has become increasingly important to Portland’s economy and in January the sector was the leading contributor to job growth in the metro, having added 7,900 jobs year-over-year, a growth rate of 9.6 percent.
