E-commerce warehousing presence increases in Phoenix throughout 2018

• E-commerce companies are now taking larger amounts of warehousing and logistics spaces throughout
Phoenix, something becoming more prevalent on an individual, company basis. In relation to e-commerce, Phoenix has been dominated by large, independent logistics players such as UPS (2017,  ~618,000 sf) and Fed-Ex (2017, ~310,000).

• Phoenix’s central location in the southwest is extremely advantageous for e-commerce, with less than a day’s transit, at most, to some of the largest consumer hubs in the country.

• Comparatively, cost of doing business is Phoenix is much lower than surrounding areas. KPMG’s 2016 competitive alternatives business costs study ranks Phoenix as 96.2, Los Angeles as 100.8, San Diego as 99.9, Las Vegas as 98.0, and Dallas-Fort Worth as 96.2 all out of 100.
