Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines!

• In honor of the 102nd running of the Indianapolis 500 on May 27th, we wondered how the Indianapolis industrial submarkets would stack up in a race. Which one is the fastest growing to earn the coveted pole position? Wave the green flag, and they’re off!

• For this “Industrial 500”, we looked at the past five years of net absorption to determine which submarket has been the fastest growing. Hendricks County easily earned the pole position with 11.3 million square feet of occupancy growth. West/Southwest of Marion County, home to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, finished off the first row with 3.2 million square feet.

• Q1 2018 was a fast start for most submarkets, with nine of the 11 posting positive net absorption. The East submarket had its own “Fast Friday”, experiencing the largest amount of growth of all submarkets (451,344
square feet).
