Kansas City to St. Louis in under 30 minutes?

• The ability to travel nearly 250 miles in under 30 minutes at 600 miles per hour may no longer be science fiction. Virgin Hyperloop One is looking to add its first ever XP-1 hyperloop transportation system in the U.S. and Kansas City to St. Louis is being considered. Although Missouri was not announced originally as one of the top 10 finalists, we are now a major contender due to the forming of the Missouri Hyperloop Coalition. Just some of the other finalists include Chicago-Columbus-Pittsburg, Dallas-Laredo-Houston, and Toronto-Montreal.

• The Missouri Hyperloop Coalition is pairing with local company, Black & Veatch, to conduct a feasibility study which will analyze the planned route along I-70 and focus on the engineering aspects and economic advantages. The study will take approximately 9 months to complete. Hyperloop’s goal is to have three production systems fully functional by 2021.

• Why Missouri? Kansas City is the 2nd largest rail hub and 3rd largest trucking hub in the country. Missouri has two major cities connected by one straight interstate with a major college in the middle.
