Continued demand from small-to-midsize financial services tenants in Midtown

  • ​The chart above demonstrates the strong demand from small-to-mid sized financial services sector tenants in Midtown, where finance firms predominantly reside. 

  • Within Midtown, the majority of financial services deals have been concentrated in the Plaza District. In the three-year time period, 65% of signed deals less than 20,000 square feet were concentrated in the district. 

  • Financial services firms have had an active 2017, especially in Midtown where the sector captured 28.45% of all deals, by far the most of all sectors. The strength of the industry is reflected in the most recent employment data as financial services jobs have surpassed pre-recession levels in New York City.​
