Raleigh snags #2 spot for strongest tech job growth

  • In true Raleigh fashion, the metro has had the second strongest technology job growth. Compared to other metros in the Top 5, Raleigh has the greatest number of people employed in tech occupations.
  • We don’t expect this job growth to slow down any time soon. Tenants spanning from local startups to global corporations have announced their intention to expand in the area and take advantage of the high-quality talent the region offers.
  • Local technology startup Pendo recently announced its expansion in Downtown Raleigh. The company is taking two floor in the Wells Fargo Capitol Center, a marked shift from the traditional finance and legal tenants the building is used to attracting. Infosys, India’s second-largest IT company, will located its second U.S. based technology and innovation hub in the Triangle. Trilliant, a California cleantech company, relocated its global headquarters to the Raleigh Metro. The firm plans to create 130 jobs.
  • What these expansions say about Raleigh is exciting. Smaller than the Silicon Valley’s and New York’s of the world, the Triangle has established itself as a technology powerhouse with the capacity to punch above its weight class. Top notch universities and a lower than average cost of living contribute to Raleigh’s ability to cultivate and retain the talent that companies across the country are competing for.
