Indiana cracks Top-10 on Forbes list for second time

  • Indiana ranked tenth in the 2018 Forbes’  Best States for Business list. Indiana’s rank is up three spots from last year. Also, this is only the second time Indiana has made the Top-10 in the 12 years the list has been published.
  • The ranking is based on 41 metrics and ranks states on six categories: business costs, labor supply, regulatory environment, economic climate, growth prospects, and quality of life.
  • Indiana’s high rank was helped by placing first in Regulatory Environment and fourth in Quality of Life. Forbes noted Indiana’s AAA rating from Moody’s and the state’s low cost of living (fifth lowest in the U.S.). Indiana’s overall placing was hindered by ranking 45th in Labor Supply.
