Housing Prices on the Rise in the East-West

  • ​Oakbrook residential prices continue to rise, the average price per square foot is $153 higher than the Chicago average. Prices are projected to continue to inch higher through the end of 2017.
  • Oakbrook is home to many corporate headquarters and Oakbrook Center, one of the largest shopping centers in the country making the area a desirable place to live.
  • Naperville’s redeveloped Water Street plus their close location to the Metra provides an attractive, affordable residential choice for residents looking for a live-work-play environment given the hip restaurants, expanded Riverwalk area, and easy access to public transportation.
  • Oakbrook’s year-over-year change has stagnated since 2014, with prices lingering around $800,000 and annual change hovering at barely 1% from 2014-2017. Meanwhile, Naperville’s growth has continued since the 2013, this past year growth was 2.6%, compared with Oakbrook’s growth at 0.7%.
