Hudson Yards/ Manhattan West leasing activity outperforms in 2017

  • ​Hudson Yards/ Manhattan West (HY/MW) has been the focus of Midtown as tenants have been flocking to the West Side. Tenants from a variety of industries are choosing new construction with greater efficiency for their real estate needs. 
  • As construction progresses and towers start to rise, 2017 has been the most successful year for West Side leasing, as Hudson Yards/ Manhattan West has accounted for 15 percent of year to date Midtown leasing activity, nearly triple the previous four-year average.
  • In Manhattan, 14.3 million square feet is currently under construction; this includes 6.3 million square feet in Hudson Yards/ Manhattan West of which 73% is pre-leased. The “live/work/play” district has proven  successful in attracting talent from all industries, as TAMI, FIRE, PBS and healthcare are all represented in the tenancy.​
