Fewer layovers ahead for Indy travelers

  • 2017 has been a busy year for Indianapolis International Airport. Ten new nonstop flights have been announced so far this year. The airport offers 48 nonstop destinations in total, with 37 nonstop flights added since 2014.
  • This includes its first two direct international flights. Trips to Cancun, Mexico are offered on a season basis, while the flights to Paris, France will operate year-round.
  • Demand for these nonstop flights has been largely created by business travelers. Seattle, Austin, San Francisco, and San Diego were all added in part to better connect Indianapolis to other major tech hubs. Government officials hope that more nonstop flights will foster growth for both Indiana-based businesses and businesses with operations in Indiana.
