Majority of Indy’s largest technology companies call the northern suburbs home

  • When thinking about the Indianapolis tech scene, most people probably think of downtown. Salesforce Tower is located in the heart of the city, after all. However, most tech companies are located in the northern suburbs.
  • By mapping the locations of the Indianapolis Business Journal’s list of largest technology companies, we made several discoveries. The Meridian Street corridor is dotted with tech companies- stretching from the CBD, into Midtown, and even up to Carmel. The most concentrated area, however, was in the Keystone submarket.
  • The I-69 corridor is also showing to be attractive to tech companies. New office construction is about to come online in downtown Fishers and Noblesville with tech firms already in place.
  • A surprising find was the pocket of tech firms located on the east side, specifically in the Fort Ben area. Ongoing redevelopment of the old military base has attracted office and retail users alike. With rents much lower than in the primary submarkets and a growing amenity base, a new tech hub could be emerging.
