Multifamily investment sales volume on torrid pace

  • As investors are struggling to find quality investments outside of the core commercial properties their focus is more on multifamily properties. Sales dollar volume in 2017 is on pace to match the last two years combined. Further, this robust demand has driven the average cap rate of closed deals down to a low 5.7%.
  • Part of this investor confidence in multifamily stems from the continually rising average home prices for Salt Lake, now at $300k. With a fast growing population, an economy adding jobs at almost double the national rate, and high purchase prices for houses, the demand for multifamily living and investment should remain high. ​
