Portland has 4th tightest office market on West Coast but remains one of the most affordable

Even though Portland saw more new construction in 2016 than it has in over 15 years, area vacancy remains among the lowest of all West Coast markets.

Although rents in Portland are up 39.8 percent since 2010, Portland continues to be a relative bargain with the 3rd lowest average asking rent on the West Coast.  Portland rents are 27 percent below the West Coast Average.

Vacancy will tick up in 2017 as 1.4 m.s.f. is under construction.  Construction as a percent of total inventory sits in the top half of West Coast markets – with, 2.4 percent as a percent of inventory.​
