Southeast remains a leader for job growth, with a spotlight on Florida

  • All four Florida metro areas* are leading the way in yearly job creation among the 15 fastest growing job markets tracked by JLL Office Research, with Orlando well ahead of the pack with a 4.0 percent gain.
  • Among the Southeast metros, Central Florida is matched only by Nashville; however, if broken out Fort Lauderdale would be the second fastest growing job market in the region at 3.8 percent – far outpacing the overall Miami MSA, which grew 3.2 percent year-over-year.
  • The state was led by the Professional & Business Service Sector, which saw an increase of nearly 55,000 new jobs since this time last year. As the labor market in Florida tightens, particularly in these for metro areas, the competition for talent is sure to heat up alongside the already hot weather. This further emphasizes the importance of companies differentiating their workplace to attract and retain talent in Florida.
  • *Note: For the purposes of this analysis, the JLL tracked office markets of Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties are grouped into the Miami MSA, as are Dallas and Fort Worth. Data is for June.
