With Bucks behind it, Park East corridor transforms

It was a hard fight for the new Bucks Arena before shovels even hit the ground, as the use of public funds was a highly contested subject. With the project now roughly 50% complete, it is a great opportunity to determine just how catalytic the development truly is. Surely, the historically quite Downtown West submarket is anything but today, rivaling the activity seen in its eastern neighbor which has typically stolen the thunder. Since the approval, and subsequent groundbreaking, of the new Arena, the Park East corridor has been targeted as prime real estate for development. Over $270 million in private investment has been announced or has broken ground since, and while it is difficult to specifically tie the Arena to their existence, each development has certainly taken its presence into account.
