Indianapolis retail market at a glance…

  • Thanks to the completion of the new 200,000 square-foot Mejierstore in McCordsville, the Indianapolis retail market saw occupancy growth this quarter.
  • After the departure of Marsh Supermarkets due to bankruptcy, competing grocers such as Meijer, Kroger, and Aldi are pumping capital into improving existing stores and increasing their footprint. Fresh Encounter is entering the local market after purchasing 15 Marsh stores (including two in the Indianapolis MSA).
  • Chains such as Tim Hortons, World of Beer, CoreLifeEatery, and SugarfireSmoke House are all expanding to the Indianapolis market for the first time.
