Were no DC, but the number of commuters traveling by foot and bicycle increases within the city limits.

​​Employment within the City of Richmond has reached its highest level since 1990, increasing by 18.8 percent between 2009 and 2016.

Since 2009, over 8,630 apartment units have been delivered Downtown, either through historical conversions or new development, and currently maintain a 92.3 percent occupancy rate.

Additionally, the Downtown population growth is forecasted to grow over 3.0 percent by 2021, three times that of the Richmond MSA on average.
