Report | Suburban Maryland Office Highlights - Q1 2011

Summary

Federal demand continued to lead the Suburban Maryland market, but an uptick in activity in the private sector hinted at more diverse demand drivers for 2011 than during the rapid recovery period in the second half of 2010.

The already-tight Bethesda/Chevy Chase and Rockville markets saw most of the new private sector demand move up I-270 even as far as Germantown. Renewal activity tended to dominate elsewhere in Montgomery County with sizeable renewals by OPNET in Bethesda and Intelsat in North Bethesda’s Rock Spring Park.
