Report | Metro St. Louis Employment Update - January 2017

Summary

​Metro St. Louis unemployment fell nearly a point below the national average in November 2016, to 3.8 percent, as year-over-year 12-month job growth rose higher to 3.1 percent. Mining, Logging and Construction saw the biggest employment gains of any super sector, adding 70,400 jobs alone. That was a 10.2 percent increase from October levels. Leisure and Hospitality also took a big jump, adding nearly 158,000 jobs market wide, an increase of 9 percent from October.
