Report | Metro St. Louis Employment Update - December 2016
The Metro St. Louis unemployment rate held below the national average of 4.6 percent in October, finishing the month locally at 4.3 percent. Year-over-year job growth also remained ahead of the overall U.S. average at 2.4 percent. Leisure and hospitality, mining, logging and construction and professional and business services led all St. Louis supersectors in job growth. Each recorded at least a 3.5 percent increase in employment during the month.
