Law firms make up only 10 percent of the active tenants currently shopping for space in the Boston CBD, with most of the competition coming from financial services and tech firms. Overall rents in Boston’s CBD continue to grow and firms currently negotiating leases will pay a premium. Large blocks left behind by relocating law firm tenants provide opportunity for value-seeking law firms. Goodwin Procter recently left traditional space in the tower market for low-rise, newly built Class A space in the Seaport District.
