Report | Northern Virginia Office Insight - Q1 2016
Northern Virginia saw its fourth consecutive quarter of positive net absorption in Q1. While growth was limited due to move-outs, the majority of tenants across the area are now getting set to expand their operations, including Unicorn, Washington Gas and MakeOffices.
And for the first time ever, Arlington County began offering incentives (matched by the state) to retain tenants. They each gave Opower $1 million to stay put.
Arlington County’s Manager is also proposing setting aside $1.5 million going forward to attract tech companies for space between 5,000 and 20,000 square feet.
