Report | United States Cross Sector Outlook - Fall 2012

Summary

Shelter from the storm

As global growth expectations are dampened by macro-economic and geopolitical uncertainty, investors still look to the U.S. as a safe haven for real estate investment, with a slightly increasing appetite for risk. More have chosen to seek shelter from the storm with a marked increase in investment in core real estate in secondary markets. For 2013, investor sentiment for many and those enlisted in our Cross Sector survey points to a preference toward core multifamily, office and industrial product in markets benefiting from improved growth. Learn more in our inaugural cross sector outlook, which identifies real estate trends and what is driving investment decisions across all property types and markets within the asset class, which is expected to keep transaction volume activity in 2013 on a slow but positive growth trajectory.
