Current responsibilities
Rod Barnes is a Managing Director for JLL's Markets Corporate Solutions group and a member of the executive leadership team for business development in the New York Tri-State Area.

In this role, he is responsible for the management, business development and service delivery for the Markets Corporate Solutions platform in the New York Tri-State Area, as well as executive oversight for key client relationships.

In addition, he is a member of the Leadership Council for our national Brokerage Group, which provides strategic direction and management oversight to JLL's brokers in the U.S.

He works closely with local market professionals to develop, transition and implement the Company’s full service offering with our corporate clients. 

He has 20 plus years of real estate experience in managing large relationships, with a focus on client satisfaction and retention.

Prior to joining JLL, Rod was a Managing Director at Cushman & Wakefield responsible for their Client Care function, nationally.

His work focused on client satisfaction, loyalty and retention. This involved helping corporate clients as well as large brokerage clients align their real estate needs with the services, teams and delivery systems offered by Cushman & Wakefield. Rod played a key role in developing relationships with the client base and working as the client advocate within Cushman & Wakefield, thus ensuring the client’s immediate and long term needs were being met and exceeded by the Cushman & Wakefield delivery team.

Throughout his career, Rod has worked with firms such as QBE Insurance, Interactive Data, The Blackstone Group, SunGard Financial Systems, Wachovia, Alston & Bird, Warner Brothers and AIG.

Rod earned his MCR designation from CoreNet Global. He has a Diploma from the Executive Development Program at the J.L. He also attended the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.

He has also earned a Masters of Business Administration in Finance and Investments from Adelphi University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics, with a minor in Business from the State University of New York at Albany.
