Current Responsibilities
Rick O’Brien is responsible for the development and leadership of Industrial Brokerage Services with the Pittsburgh office of Jones Lang LaSalle.  With a constant focus on maximizing business results for his clients, Mr. O’Brien strives to deliver and interpret relevant information and consult on issues critical to the success of his clients real estate projects. 

Mr. O’Brien has provided real estate brokerage services since 1992.  He has affiliated with Jones Lang LaSalle in December of 2009.  Previously he was with a national real estate brokerage firm were he was a charter member of the logistics practice group and was a top performing Industrial Broker, achieving top 10 status nationally and served on the Industrial Practice Group.  He has delivered real estate services on behalf of his clients on a local, regional and national basis, has been a speaker on industrial real estate topics before business associations and has been instrumental in the sale or lease of over ten million square feet of industrial/office property and over twenty two million square feet of land sales/development totaling over $465,000,000 in volume over the last five years.

He has represented Developers (Chapman Properties, Elmhurst Group, Sampson/Morris Group), Corporate Real Estate (FedEx Ground, Heinz USA, Bayer Corporation, Eaton), Asset Managers and Real Estate Investors (Pittsburgh Business Properties, Sun Capital Advisors, First Industrial). 

Education and Affiliations
A native of Pittsburgh, Mr. O’Brien holds an M.B.A. from the Katz School of Business, University of Pittsburgh and is a graduate of Marietta College.  Mr. O’Brien is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  He was accepted as a member of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) recognizing superior production levels and experience with industrial real estate brokerage.

Mr. O’Brien is a Past President of the Western Pennsylvania Chapter of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) and is a member of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP).

Mr. O’Brien practiced Accounting from 1985 to 1991.
