Current responsibilities
Aaron Ahlburn is a Senior Vice President and Director of Research for the industrial and retail property markets for JLL's Americas region.  He joined the firm in 2008 as Head of Industrial Research.  In January 2012, Aaron also took on the position of Head of Retail Research for JLL’s U.S. operations.

His directives include the development, differentiation and implementation of research strategy, methodology, platform deliverables and broad sector analyses for the warehouse, distribution, manufacturing and retail property markets in the United States, Mexico and Canada. 

Specialties
Aaron works closely with JLL professionals and clients, ensuring the delivery of timely, thorough and proactive research and thought leadership.  With a team of more than 50 national and local research analysts throughout the Americas, he helps prepare in-depth, customized research on market trends and forecasts, strategic and competitive analyses, consumer demand studies, economic updates and projections, demographic and industry studies, among other types of research. 

In addition to an annual series of white papers on industry, supply chain and consumer topics, Aaron also regularly publishes reports that include the North America and U.S. Industrial and Retail Outlook reports, U.S. Industrial Statistics, a quarterly Occupier Review, Market Highlights, the U.S. Warehousing Demand Study and an annual Port, Airport and Global Infrastructure Outlook report.

Aaron also sits on JLL's Research Leadership Council, which focuses on the department’s strategic vision, team management and development of best practice standards and collaboration across the global research platform and brand.

Experience
Aaron joined JLL as part of the company’s merger with The Staubach Company in 2008. Prior to his position with The Staubach Company, he was a Senior Manager at CoStar Group, Inc., leading a large research team while helping to develop a proprietary, internal database platform and training procedures and protocols.

In addition, Aaron acted as Research Integration Director in London, working with a newly-acquired CoStar U.K. subsidiary, Property Intelligence Plc, to identify best practices and implement processes to unify both research methodologies and property data architecture.

Education
Aaron received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Business Administration from McDaniel College in Westminster, Maryland.  He has also completed several CCIM and American Management Association courses.

Affiliations
Aaron is a member of NAIOP’s Southern California chapter as well as NAIOP’s National Research Director’s committee, and is also a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
