Current responsibilities
James L. Koster II serves as the Group Head for the Americas Capital Markets & Investor Services businesses for JLL. In this capacity, Jay is responsible for guiding all businesses focused on the firm's investor clients in the Americas, including Agency Leasing, Capital Markets, Property Management and Valuation and Advisory Services. 

Jay also serves on the Americas Executive Committee for JLL, helping set operating and strategic direction for JLL's Americas business, and shares responsibility for the strategic direction, growth and client activities of JLL's global capital markets business as a member of the firm's global capital markets board. 

Jay has 25 years of commercial real estate investment and capital markets experience, with broad experience in real estate development and investment, mortgage lending, asset management, commercial brokerage and investment banking.

Experience
Until assuming his current role in January 2014, Jay led JLL's Americas Capital Markets business, guiding the business through a substantive restructure during the market downturn and driving revenue growth exceeding 600% from 2010 to 2013.  

Jay has directed the expansion of the firm's Capital Markets service offering, adding new capabilities in loan servicing, loan sales, GSE lending, equity fund raising, and credit tenant lease financing, and broadly expanding the firm's product coverage in the America's to include multi family, industrial, office, and retail brokerage and financing.

Prior to assuming leadership of JLL's Americas Capital Markets business, Jay was responsible for the integration of the Capital Markets groups of JLL and The Staubach Company following the 2008 merger of the two firms. 

Previously, he led The Staubach Company's Capital Markets Group, guiding the firm's expansion of its Capital Markets investment and services platform.  Jay also earned The Staubach Company's Most Valuable Player award in 2008, as the firm's top revenue producer, and also served on the firm's management committee helping direct and guide the overall growth of The Staubach Company.

Prior to joining The Staubach Company, Jay was a Vice President at Gale & Wentworth, where he helped direct the acquisition, financing and planning of premier office and industrial real estate development projects in the Northern New Jersey marketplace. 

Jay began his real estate career in 1989 with Prudential's general account real estate investment group holding various roles in investment management, lending, and development, and was a founding member of its property management and agency leasing subsidiary, Premisys Real Estate Services.

Education
Jay holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Texas.

Affiliations
He is a member of the Executive Council of the University of Texas Real Estate Finance and Investment Council, and is a member of industry associations including ULI, ICSC, PREA and MBA.
