Our people

Gary Papke is an Executive Vice President as part of Valuation & Advisory Services, LLC based in Chicago. Mr. Papke holds the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute, the CRE designation from the Counselors of Real Estate, and is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Mr. Papke has more than 30 years of experience as a real estate appraiser and analyst working throughout the United States. In recent years has focused much of his work on analysis of the impact of environmental contamination on real estate.  He also has expertise in the valuation of complex property types and property interests, including, for example, the valuation of concessioner-built and operated facilities in most of the major parks in the National Park Service system. 

He is the co-developer of Appraisal Institute educational seminars on analyzing environmental risks in real estate and in the valuation of special purpose properties.  He has published articles in The Appraisal Journal, Real Estate Issues, and Planning magazine, and has been an adjunct lecturer at the University of Illinois at Chicago as well as in the Real Estate Department at DePaul University in Chicago.  Mr. Papke holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from Gustavus Adolphus College and a Master of Urban Planning degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
