Current Responsibilities

Kara's responsibilities include project management for tenant improvement construction while working with the client and stakeholders to ensure a project that meets established performance, environmental, budget, and schedule metrics.  


With experience in project management with JLL as well as general contracting, Kara is proficient in executing a wide range of preconstruction, design development, contract execution, change order, project delivery, and post construction activities.  

Prior to joining JLL, Kara worked for a large commercial general contractor as a Project Engineer and eventually an Assistant Project Manager. Her high profile projects while in general contracting included The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, The North Extension of the US Capitol, the Headquarters for Homeland Security - St. Elizabeth's Campus and a large confidential government campus valued at over $300M. 

While a team member for these projects Kara received her Top Secret Security Clearance. In the general contracting field, Kara gained experience in retail ground up construction as well as tenant improvement fit outs. Since joining JLL, Kara has gained experience representing both a landlord and tenants doing corporate interior fit outs.

Education and Affiliations

Kara has a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Virginia Tech. She received her Engineer in Training (EIT) in 2014. She is also a LEED Green Associate and LEED Accredited Professional, Building Design + Construction.
