​​​​​Experience​

Charles T. Brigden is an Executive Vice President as part of Valuation & Advisory Services, LLC based in Chicago.  Mr. Brigden is a certified general appraiser with more than 20 years’ experience in real estate development, finance and consulting. At JLL, he directs large-scale real estate appraisal projects, specializing in complex valuation assignments including properties affected by environmental contamination. Mr. Brigden has completed assignments in more than 30 states and holds the CRE designation from the Counselors of Real Estate, and is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. He is also a candidate for the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute. ​

Notable assignments performed by Mr. Brigden include providing expert witness and litigation support services for high-profile property damage cases related to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, Hurricane Katrina flooding, the Enbridge pipeline oil spill in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and the TOUSA, Inc. homebuilder bankruptcy litigation where he was responsible for the analysis of vast amounts of real estate valuation data within the litigation context. Mr. Brigden also has a special concentration in valuation of conservation and preservation easements, historic structures, and special purpose properties.

Mr. Brigden has published articles in The Appraisal Journal and Real Estate Issues and is currently collaborating with Mr. Richard Roddewig on two books for the Appraisal Institute. Mr. Brigden earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree and a Masters of Real Estate from the University of Wisconsin. He is an active member the Board of Trustees for the Hinsdale Historical Society.
