Current responsibilities
Fahim Sayed is leading property tax services for the Midwest and East and is based in Chicago. In this capacity, he will focus on real estate valuation and taxation, with an emphasis on property tax planning, appeals, transaction consulting, and transfer tax mitigation.

Fahim has experience in virtually every sector of real estate, including retail, office and hospitality. His experience spans working for Fortune 500 corporations, global tax consulting firms, and leading law firms.

Most recently, at Sears Holdings Corporation, Fahim led the Northeast Region of Sears’ Property Tax group where he managed and reduced real estate tax liability for owned, leased, and ground leased retail assets through negotiation, attendance at assessment board hearings, and commencement of judicial appeals.

Before then, Fahim worked at Ryan LLC, the largest property tax consulting practice in the world, in reviewing, appealing, and negotiating property tax assessments for a variety of assets.

In addition to his active appeals practice, Fahim assisted clients in understanding the impact of real estate taxes and transfer taxes on proposed transactions.

Before focusing exclusively on property tax matters, Fahim practiced real estate law in Pennsylvania for a prominent East Coast real estate developer and served as a litigation attorney at one of the largest law firms in Philadelphia.
