Current responsibilities
Mike DeNamur is Vice President, Smart Building Solutions with JLL’s Smart Building Program. In this role, he helps clients understand how to apply Internet of Things (IoT) technology and smart building strategies to drive business results in commercial and corporate real estate.

Mike’s key responsibilities are to guide clients through a structured process that prioritizes program goals, defines specific smart building strategies, specifies appropriate technologies, and oversees program implementation.

Key impacts of smart buildings include reduced operating expenses, enhanced occupant experience and employee productivity, and improved safety and security of occupants and building assets.

Mike has more than 25 years experience in the commercial building industry including strategic marketing, technical, and leadership roles with global market leaders of HVAC, building automation, elevator, fire & life safety, security, access control, video and energy management products and services.

He has unique expertise in the integration of building systems, having been involved in the definition and mainstream adoption of BACnet® and LONWORKS® technologies and experienced in their use as the foundation for integrated, smart building solutions.

A background in whole-building energy simulation and performance modeling gives Mike additional perspective.

Mike received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, and is a LEED-accredited professional. He has authored articles and been a frequent speaker at industry events on the state, regional and national level.

Over the course of his career Mike has been active in many industry organizations, including the ASHRAE SSPC-135 BACnet committee, LonMark Association Board of Directors, Continental Automated Buildings Association (CABA), Connecticut Construction Institute and Connecticut Green Building Association.
