Current responsibilitiesAs Managing Director, Brian focuses on leading all capital markets activity throughout the Carolinas. He oversees investment sales, debt and equity loan originations, acquisitions, recapitalizations, and loan workouts including debt restructuring, modification and extensions.
In addition, Brian’s responsibilities include assisting in the continued growth of the Carolinas Capital Markets platform on a regional and national basis.
ExperienceBrian has been in the commercial real estate industry for nearly 30 years. Prior to joining JLL, Brian held a position as Mid-Atlantic Market leader in Washington, DC for Cushman and Wakefield.
In this role, he oversaw the operations for office brokerage, retail services, industrial, capital markets, corporate occupier and investor services, and valuation and advisory. He aligned strategic plans across market and business leaders and was responsible for the regions profitability.
During his time with Cushman and Wakefield Brian made significant impact, being a catalyst for the region’s cultural transformation and establishing guiding principles.
His efforts resulted in doubling revenue growth for the region, specifically winning 21 million square feet in new agency leasing assignments and 22 million square feet of tenant exclusives.
Some noteworthy investor projects include The Wharf with PN Hoffman and Madison Marquette, Tysons II and Washington Square with Lerner, 555 12th St with MetLife, 2112 Pennsylvania Ave with Skanska and the 29 building Harrison Street Medical portfolio. Noteworthy tenant clients include Blackboard, Toyota, ULI, BB&T, American Beverage Association, Booze Allen, Washington Gas and Ballard Spahr.
Before assuming the role as the Mid-Atlantic Market Leader, Brian started his career in 1986 as a leasing broker at Spaulding & Slye Colliers where he later co-founded the Capital Markets practice in 1997.
Education Brian holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Maryland.
