Our people

Mr. Heeter is a Senior Advisor at JLL with thirty-plus years of legal experience specializing in corporate and health care law representing public, privately-held, and growth companies all in matters including mergers and acquisitions, securities and financing.


Mr. Heeter began his career as an associate and partner at the Stinson Leonard Street Law firm in 1973 and was Member, and Managing Committee member from 1989-1995.  Mr. Heeter is experienced as a Board of Directors member, with specialized experience in governance, audit and crisis management.  He has proven leadership skills in civic and community organizations and projects.  He then became Member of firm-wide Finance Committee for Denton's with principal responsibility for Kansas City, St. Louis, Los Angeles and San Francisco offices from 1996-2004.  He was Member of firm-wide Executive Committee 2001-2010 and Managing Partner from 2001-2010.  In 2010, Mr. Heeter became President and CEO of the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce and was there until 2016 when he joined JLL.   Mr. Heeter is currently also a member of the Missouri Technology Corporation.

Community Involvement
Currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Kansas City Symphony.  Immediate Past President, Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association; Board of Directors, Civic Council of Greater Kansas City; Board of Directors, Kansas City Area Development Council; Board of Directors, Teach for America (Midwestern Region); Elder and Trustee of Village Presbyterian Church; Co-founder and Director, Lawyers Encouraging Academic Performance (LEAP) (benefiting Operation Breakthrough); Board of Trustees, MRI Global (formerly Midwest Research Institute); University of Missouri Research and Development Advisory Board; Board of Directors, Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives; Board of Directors, Friends of the Missouri Governor's Mansion.


Mr. Heeter received his A.B., Political Science and Government at the University of Missouri and his Juris Doctor at Harvard Law School.
